Operation Sindoor anniversary: Indian Army releases video marking one year of strikes on Pakistan

To commemorate the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army on Thursday released a fresh video, lauding the military action and maintaining that ‘India will track, identify and punish terrorists and their backers’

To commemorate the first anniversary of
Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army on Thursday released a fresh video, lauding the military action and maintaining that “India will track, identify and punish terrorists and their backers”. In the early hours of May 7, 2025, the Indian military launched Operation Sindoor, targeting
nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The mission was conducted in response to the devastating
Pahalgam terror attack, which rocked the country on April 22, 2025, when terrorists backed by Pakistan, infiltrated a tourist spot in Kashmir and killed 26 Indian nationals.

The video released by the Indian Army opens with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address, in which he said “India will identify, track and eliminate terrorists and their backers,” referring to it as the “national resolution”. It recalled the horrors of the Pahalgam terror attack and listed out the nine terror sites that were targeted by the Indian forces in Operation Sindoor.

The video then shares visuals from the Indian military’s resolute planning and operation during the
four-day military escalation with Pakistan. The Army also shared visuals of the military targets in Pakistan, which it struck during the brief war between the two neighbouring nations.

Finally, the video concludes with another address by the Indian Prime Minister, in which he shared India’s resolve. “Terror and talks cannot go together, terror and trade can’t go together, and water and blood cannot flow together,” the prime minister said, referring to the suspension of the
Indus Water Treaty.

India remembers one year of Op Sindoor

Earlier, the
Indian Air Force shared a video on its social media with the message “India forgives nothing”. Interestingly, the Indian Army posted its video on May 7, at 1:05 am, which was the same time Operation Sindoor was launched last year.

Within just 25 minutes, the Indian military targeted the nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. The strikes targeted bases linked to
Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen. More than 100 terrorists were reported to have been killed in the operation.

Not only this, the casualties included 10 relatives of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief and most-wanted terrorist
Masood Azhar. Operation Sindoor eventually triggered a strong response from Pakistan. However, the Indian forces managed to thwart these efforts and responded with counterattacks, targeting Pakistani airbases and key installations.

The Operation Sindoor is now widely regarded as one of the most prominent success stories, with defence analysts around the world often lauding its precision.
