Haryana ADG Y Puran Kumar
CHANDIGARH: Shock and anguish over the alleged suicide of Haryana ADG Y Puran Kumar has triggered calls for strict action from sections of IAS and IPS officers, reports Pawan Tiwari. Haryana IAS officer D Suresh, along with others, met Chandigarh DGP Sagar Preet Hooda at police headquarters and demanded the immediate arrest of DGP Shatrujeet Singh Kapur and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia, who have been named in Puran Kumar’s “suicide note”.
The IAS Officers Association also met on Friday to discuss the issue. Sources said around 40 officers participated in the meeting in which several officers spoke specifically against the “functioning” of the Haryana DGP and extended their support to the deceased officer’s wife, IAS officer Amneet P Kumar.
