Indonesia: Over 50 injured in explosion at mosque inside Jakarta school during friday prayers

At least 54 people were injured after an explosion rocked a mosque during Friday prayers inside a school complex in Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, police said.

At least 54 people, including children and teachers, were injured after an explosion ripped through a mosque inside a school complex in Indonesia’s capital Jakarta during Friday prayers, news agency Reuters reported citing police said.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the blast, which occurred around 12.30 pm inside a mosque located within a Navy compound in the Kelapa Gading area of North Jakarta.

Jakarta Police Chief Asep Edi Suheri told reporters that the injured suffered burns and other wounds, some of them serious. He confirmed that a probe had been launched to determine what triggered the explosion.
