PM Modi chairs CCS meet to review fuel, fertiliser, essential supplies amid West Asia conflict

A special meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday reviewed the steps taken in view of the ongoing conflict in West Asia and assessed the availability of critical needs of the common man.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review India’s preparedness in light of the ongoing conflict in West Asia, with a focus on ensuring the availability of essential supplies.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting assessed steps taken by various ministries and departments and discussed further measures to manage any potential impact of the situation.

PM Modi called for comprehensive efforts to shield citizens from disruptions arising out of the conflict, particularly in relation to essential goods and services.

The meeting was held to review measures taken by ministries and departments, and discuss further initiatives in the context of the West Asia conflict, it said.

This was the second special CCS meeting on the issue.

The prime minister took stock of fertilisers and steps being taken to ensure their availability in the Kharif and Rabi seasons.

He directed a smooth flow of authentic information to the public to prevent misinformation and rumour-mongering.

The meeting was briefed about the steps being taken to ensure stable prices of essential commodities and action taken against hoarding and black-marketing.
