A training aircraft made an emergency landing in Maharashtra’s Baramati on Wednesday. The incident took place in the village of Gojubavi, the same location where former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s plane crashed.
The aircraft, operated by Redbird company, reported technical glitches mid-air during a training session. As per preliminary information, the pilot of the aircraft detected issues near the village. The plane reportedly lost engine power while flying over the northern side of the village, nearly 1.5 kilometres away from the main habitation.
After identifying the problem, the pilot decided to make an emergency landing in a nearby sugarcane field. No casualties or injuries have been reported from the incident so far.
Shortly after the incident, local residents gathered at the scene, while police and administrative officials arrived and launched an investigation into the cause of the technical failure.
