Parties in the fray
The NDA is seeking to continue its rule in Bihar, while the RJD, supported by the Congress, aims to break JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar’s two-decade-long tenure as Chief Minister. In 2015, the RJD had allied with JD(U) to win the elections, but the alliance soon broke. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is now trying to overcome the party’s electoral jinx.
