One year after India launched precision strikes against terror launchpads in Pakistan, the country’s top leadership has changed their social media presence into a unified tribute to the armed forces
Marking the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his senior Cabinet ministers have changed their profile pictures on X (formerly Twitter) to a unified logo commemorating the
historic military operation.
The coordinated move, which began on Thursday morning, includes high-profile figures such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to name a few. The logo features an Indian tricolour shield integrated with a saffron-hued flame, symbolising the “resolve and sacrifice” of the Indian Armed Forces.
Commemorating a ‘golden chapter’
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7, 2025, in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 civilians. The multi-domain offensive targeted nine major terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including bases belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
“We remain steadfast in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem,” PMModi wrote on X.
A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during #OperationSindoor. They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour.

The operation also marked a turning point for India’s domestic defence industry. Since the strikes, Indian defence exports have
surged by over 60 per cent, with global interest growing in indigenous systems like the BrahMos missile and Akash air defence platforms, which were used during the four-day conflict.
The profile picture change was quickly followed by thousands of supporters and BJP party members, who adopted the same logo.
