Two Indian men shot dead outside Gurdwara in Italy’s Bergamo

The victims were attacked near a place of worship in Covo during a Vaisakhi gathering late Friday night

Two Indian nationals were shot dead in Italy’s Bergamo province late on Friday night in an incident that took place outside a gurdwara in the town of Covo, according to local media reports.

The victims have been identified as Raginder Singh, 48, a resident of Covo, and Gurmit Singh, 48, who lived in nearby Agnadello.

The shooting occurred just minutes before midnight in the square outside Gurdwara Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, located in an industrial area of the town. The men were reportedly leaving the premises, which was being used as a place of worship during a gathering to mark the Vaisakhi festival, when they were attacked.

Local newspaper reports said the assailants opened fire as the victims exited the warehouse structure.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
