KOLAR: Recounting of votes polled on EVMs in Malur assembly constituency of Karnataka during the 2023 assembly elections continued till close to midnight in Kolar on Tuesday. This is the first time in the country that votes cast through EVMs in an assembly election are being re-tabulated, with the outcome set to be placed before Supreme Court rather than Election Commission. Karnataka HC had ordered the recount after BJP candidate K S Manjunath Gowda challenged the 248-vote victory of Congress MLA K Y Nanje Gowda.
